Application update for 2027
Applications are now open for International Students wishing to commence their studies in Term 1, 2027.
Please note the following requirements:
- Term 1, 2027 dates: 2 February – 9 April 2027
- Students must enroll for a minimum of one term
- Applications for Term 1, 2027, close on 30 October 2026
- We encourage you to submit applications as early as possible, as places are limited, and early applications assist us with planning

Enrolments
Requirements for International Student Enrolment
- Murrays Bay Primary School only accepts international student enrolments for a minimum duration of 10 weeks (one term) or longer.
- If you are a parent wanting to enrol your child at our school as an International Student, please email us for a list of agents affiliated with our school – internationals@murraysbay.school.nz
- If you are an agent, please email Mrs Ilse Hindle on internationals@murraysbay.school.nz to check availability before submitting the application on Enroller.
All international students must live with a parent in New Zealand to study at Murrays Bay Primary School.
Once you have completed the online application process, the school will confirm the acceptance of placement and provide an acceptance letter and invoice for payment.

Immigration
Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at www.immigration.govt.nz
Health and Travel
Most students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. We require that all International Students have insurance that will cover the cost of medical treatment for the duration of their stay in New Zealand. Travel Insurance is also required to cover travel to and from New Zealand. It is recommended that this be taken out in New Zealand. Proof of Medical Insurance cover must be sighted by the school prior to commencement of study. For students wishing to study at Murrays Bay School the school can arrange health insurance at a competitive rate.
Acommodation
In keeping with government legislation Murrays Bay Primary School will only enrol students who are living with a parent(s) for the duration of their stay at our school.

Murrays Bay Primary School can terminate enrolment in the event of:
- Continued and unexplained absenteeism
- Disruptive behaviour
- Criminal behaviour
- A false declaration being made prior to or on enrolment

How to make a payment
- To get started, log into Enroller to view the Offer and Invoice summary. Select “I am paying from overseas” to payusing Flywire and click ‘Pay now’.
- Once you are redirected to the Flywire website, select the country you would like to pay from.
- Enter some basic information to initiate your payment booking.
- Follow the instructions provided to send funds to Flywire. For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency. Note: Additional local payment options may be available depending on the country you are paying from.
- Receive text and email status updates each step of the way, including a confirmation when your payment has been delivered to your institution. You can also create a Flywire account to track your payment.

Complaints and Concerns
Students and parents may experience problems and difficulties in adjusting to life in New Zealand. Any problems will be first addressed by the Teacher and, then the Deputy Principal of International Students, if needed. The school’s Complaints Policy is applicable to International Students and their parents. The school adheres to the “Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students”. An appeal authority operates through the New Zealand Qualification Authority. The Domestic Resolution Scheme commenced on 1 July 2016. If you have a complaint about Murrays Bay Primary School, you can contact the New Zealand Qualifications Authority(NZQA) by phone on 0800 697 296 or email qadrisk@nzqa.govt.nz Or, if it is a financial or contractual dispute, you can contact Fair Way Resolution by phone on 0800774422. Grievances
Murrays Bay Primary School undertakes to treat all complaints raised by students and parents seriously (including problems with other students).
If there is a problem, in the first instance, please talk with your son or daughter’s teacher. If the issue has not been dealt with to your satisfaction please make an appointment at the school office to speak with the Deputy Principal with the responsibility for International Students.
If you have seen the appropriate persons but the issue has not been solved, then please ask the school office to make an appointment with the Principal.
If you are still not satisfied then you can write to the Chairperson of the School Board of Trustees.
